The updated release date of The Batman movie, and the cast, a brief talk about Robert Pattinson's career and bit of an analysis of the released trailer.
So where are all the Batman Fans?
One of the most popular characters in comic history, Batman’s latest movie is scheduled to release on March 4, 2022, after changing several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All the film adaptations of the Batman have received much love from the fans, from 1960’s Adam West to Christian Bale, and now the upcoming Batman is already generating buzz too, being one of the most anticipated of the year.
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, the talented filmmaker who also made films like Cloverfield (2008), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), and War of the Planet of the Apes (2017). It has an ensemble cast, starring Robert Pattinson as The Batman. The rest of the cast includes some talent as Zoe Kravitz as The Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, John Turturro as Falcon, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin, revealing that there will be multiple villains in the movie. Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Jeffrey Wright also contribute to supporting roles.
Although the plot is still unknown, we know that it would be a solo Batman film and not a part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). As the film’s trailer is now released, we see that it has a darker tone than any of the previous Batman versions, and Robert Pattinson’s Batman character seems to go in a totally different direction than what we’re familiar with. Director Matt Reeves said that the movie will be in a point of view-driven noirish style, and it will be focusing more on Batman’s detective mode since Reeves has always thought that his detective nature was a missing piece in every other live-action Batman film.
There was some negative talk going early with the casting of Robert Pattinson since he was familiar to most people with Twilight Saga movies. But now Pattinson has smartly transformed himself into a great method actor with his recent performances in movies such as The Lighthouse and Good Time. Even his latest performances in The Devil All the Time and Christopher Nolan’s Tenet has received a positive response from fans and critics. So I can assure you that we can take our hopes high on Pattinson, and it’s confirmed with a look at the trailer. He’s going to nail it.
